Evaluation of Drug Information Quality on Q&A in a Tertiary Care Hospital

Abstract

|
The purpose of Medication Information is to promote proper use of medication through which a improvement of the quality of life is assured. Medication Information should be patient specific and offered with responsibility as an integral part of Pharmaceutical Care. The quality of Medication Information on Q&A is evaluated using the explicit written criteria, giving 1 to 4 points in 10 categories and converted to 100% at Drug Information Center of Kangnam St. Mary´s Hospital, between Oct. 1995 to Sept. 1998. As a result, the total average score showed a little differences every year and the highest score (92.7) was time frame while the follow-up score was the lowest (49.5) and others were above 93.8. These results indicate that the technique how to draw the background information from the requester should be emphasized and taught at training and time should be give for follow-up.
